Sass & Bide: Eastland

Another indie-Aussie women’s designer, Sass & Bide has an industrial, Spartan thing going on at its Eastland store, especially with the black-metal wire clothing racks and the light and white interior. The vibe is amplified with the some of the clothes, including the see-through bra (à la Milla Jovovic in the Fifth Element) and the gladiator-style sandals: the current season is bringing fierce back. Sass & Bide has also launched a new Love Notes series of candles, which are spenny at $90 a pop, but they smell fine and look pretty, emblazoned with breathy missives. The visual merchandising is art – particularly, the little display boxes built into the walls, which house objects of beauty including a tiny Greek warrior and a leather horse.
