Do yourself a favour and avoid the madness of your local shopping centre this silly season by hitting up the Collective Hustle’s Christmas Design Market at Coburg Town Hall.
Conveniently timed a month before Christmas Day, this market includes more than 60 designer stalls slinging homewares, fashion, children’s products, health and beauty products, accessories, artworks, gourmet food and coffee. With a focus on promoting local talent, every product sold at Collective Hustle markets is handmade or designed locally.
Local artist Catalina Billikopf will be running free creative Christmas decorating workshops between 10am and 2pm for all ages (why should kids get all the fun?) Gift wrapping is another new addition to the Christmas Market, for a gold coin donation you can have your gifts wrapped in environmentally friendly paper from Inky Co. All donations support local charity Berry Street, who provide outstanding specialist support helping children, young people and families recover from the effects of violence, abuse and neglect.
Entry is just $2 (kids are free) and the market is open from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, November 24. There’s plenty of parking, indoor seating, good coffee unique gifts – and even authentic Christmas puddings by Mornington’s Cookies and Co. What more could you want for your yuletide shopping? Check out the website for details about stallholders.
