Set aside a day this weekend for the experience that is Chadstone – The Fashion Capital. Located in Malvern East, the world-renowned fashion, dining and entertainment destination opened its doors over 60 years ago and is now home to over 500 stores, attracting more than 24 million visitors a year. It also happens to be the only major shopping destination in Victoria open until 9pm Thursday to Saturday and 7pm Sunday.

Chadstone underwent huge growth towards the end of the 2010s with a major expansion to the already stacked entertainment, shopping and dining hub. So sit back and relax as we break down how the destination continues to grow as a cultural epicentre. Whether you’re seeking luxury shopping, a day out for the family or a night’s wining and dining, you can do it in style at Chadstone.

Shopping

Chadstone is a fashion hub that is currently home to over 500 stores including some of the best brands available both in Australia and overseas. They include more than 35 luxury brands such as Balenciaga, Celine, Dior, Givenchy and Versace, to name a few. Need help finding your perfect look? Whether for a particular occasion or an entire wardrobe refresh, Chadstone’s professional stylists are available to help you shop with packages starting at $375.

As an integrated lifestyle destination, here the offerings extend well beyond the world of fashion. There’s an Apple store for the latest MacBooks and iPhones, a Tesla showroom that displays the features and options of these brilliant electric vehicles, top beauty purveyors Sephora and Mecca, minimalist lifestyle products from Muji, and hundreds more.

To help make the shopping experience easy, Chadstone offers Hands Free Shopping for only $15 – a service allowing shoppers to have their purchases stored away while they continue shopping. Valet parking (presented by Lexus) is super-easy with shoppers able to drive straight in without a booking, and affordable too at $20 for weekdays while weekends and public holidays are $40.

Entertainment

It’s not all about retail therapy though. If you’re looking for something fun to do, Chadstone is a renowned entertainment hub. The complex includes a Hoyts that does not hold back on the finer things, offering extra large powered recliner seats in every cinema so you can experience the latest blockbusters in splendour. Enjoy the premier cinema experience with Hoyts Lux, where a bespoke luxury menu of tasty treats provides a premium cinema dine-in experience.

If you’ve got kids to entertain then head over to Australia’s first and only Legoland Discovery Centre. The entertainment experience offers 13 great family attractions, including soft play areas, a 4D cinema, a virtual Lego factory tour, and immersive rides. The centre has more than two million Lego bricks on the premises and a retail store with a comprehensive range including the latest Lego Harry Potter and Lego Star Wars. Booking in advance is recommended at the Legoland Discovery Centre to avoid disappointment.

The Entertainment and Leisure Precinct is expanding too, with seven new destinations for all ages on the way – stay tuned.

Dining

A long day of shopping leaves you in need of sustenance, which is why Chadstone pulls out all the stops with its range of dining precincts. Say goodbye to boring meals and say hello to 95 of the best dining possibilities Melbourne has to offer. Whether you are looking to dine in or take away, Chadstone has you covered.

The Dining Terrace is located just below Hoyts. Try fresh and delicious burgers from Betty’s Burgers; contemporary Mexican from Fonda; ribs, wings and burgers at TGI Fridays; a first-class bento from Marae Izakaya; homestyle Vietnamese from Mama’s Buoi; and soup dumplings, noodles, hot pots and more from New Shanghai.

Looking for a quick nibble? Two food courts offer kiosks for every craving. These include iced perfection from 7 Apples Gelato, tasty Greek street food from Hella Good, and top-notch bánh mì from Phuoc Thanh Bakery. Elsewhere, be pleasantly surprised to find the five-star cakery of Black Star Pastry or the sea’s bounty at Maguro Sushi and Oyster Bar.

Why not celebrate a successful shop with a glass of Champagne? Altus Rooftop, Bar & Lounge at Hotel Chadstone up on Level 12 has wraparound windows affording uninterrupted views of the Dandenong Ranges and a bar menu heroing seasonal ingredients.

Chadstone – The Fashion Capital is the cure for boredom this weekend, so get the family, your partner or maybe even just yourself ready for a day of entertainment, shopping and fine dining. See you there!
