It was an absolutely huge year for the very first professional women's AFL league, and after sellout games across the country and a massive groundswell of support they're filling in the time before the 2018 season with a one-off State of Origin game. That's right folks, it's not just the Blues and the Maroons who want to prove their state is nuber one. They're also going to be playing in their biggest arena yet with the game set to take place at Etihad Stadium.
Plus it falls in the bye week before the men's premiership finals kick off so footy fever will be at it's seasonal peak.
