Time Out says

Somehow, windsurfing is just a little too reminiscent of a time when fluorescent boardshorts, coconut oil and Luke Perry were all the rage. As such, your modern wind demon has turned to kiteboarding which looks like, and kind of is, a cross between snowboarding and paragliding. It’s not the cheapest, or easiest endeavour, but looking at the bronzed and buffed pros flying around the bay, we have decided that it is definitely the coolest watersport our waveless beaches can offer. Looking awesome will require some lessons which start at $50 for an introductory one hour tutorial on kite handling, and water lingo.
