St Kilda Sports Club

This club is so well renowned, even royalty has swung by here – although not since 1868, admittedly. It hosts live music in the Club Bar on Friday nights, dipping into the local St Kilda muso pool, with pots just two bucks for members between 6 and 7pm. Then there’s the joyously rock’n’roll Day by the Green festival, the next one of which falls on on January 25 2015, followed on the 26th – Australia Day – by more live music with Bowled Over. Back in August the members’ bar and lounge had a facelift after a fundraiser by Tex Perkins – and it's great if you fancy a game of pool (free on Monday nights) or darts. Otherwise, get thee outside for barefoot bowls and petanque.
