We get it. By now, everyone at home, at work and in your friendship circle is raving about how much they loved seeing The Book of Mormon, and you’re done feeling jealous of them. The outrageously funny musical, which opened at the Princess Theatre back in February, is the most popular show Melbourne has seen in years. And rightfully so: the musical has received nothing but rave reviews (read our five-star review) and breathless praise from audiences across the city.

But don’t fret: there are still plenty of opportunities to catch The Book of Mormon. Many performances are sold out, but if you’re savvy, there are ways to secure great tickets for less than you’d expect. Plus, we've got access to exclusive pre-sale tickets for Time Out readers; read on to find out more!

1. Book well ahead for the best seats
If you can stand waiting just a little bit longer, then you’re more likely to secure great seats if you book further in advance. Worried that your plans will change and you won’t be able to make it? No worries: they offer an exchange policy where you can shift the date of your tickets within a minimum of four weeks prior to your original date. Where available, they’ll even match the type of ticket you booked.

2. Book on the official Book of Mormon website
This one is simple, yet effective: book on the official website to get the best seats at best prices. The website’s calendar will show you which dates have the best tickets, so you know you’re getting bang for buck.

3. Get a group together and save money
Grab your mates, your partner, your parents and your grandparents (if they’re open-minded enough) and form a group large enough to get a discounted rate on tickets. Bookings of 12 people or more can save up to $30 per ticket.

4. Take a chance on the daily $40 ticket lottery
Yep, this is the biggie. Every day, you can turn up to the Princess Theatre box office two and a half hours before that night’s performance and enter the daily lottery. Simply put your name in, wait half an hour and find out if your name is drawn. If you’re lucky, then you can buy two fantastic tickets for just $40 each. Don’t forget to bring your photo ID!

5. Sign up to the musical’s social channels to hear about new dates first
Your best chance of getting sought-after weekend tickets is by following The Book of Mormon on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook and signing up to their email newsletter on their website. That’s where they announce new release tickets first.
