Having teamed up for Victorian Opera's 2015 production of Sweeney Todd, director Stuart Maunder AM and Tony Award-winning designer Roger Kirk are combining powers for Janáček’s poignant 1920s opera about the life and death of Vixen Sharpears. Jack Symonds, the artistic director of Sydney Chamber Opera, will make his VO debut conducting Jonathan Dove’s chamber orchestration.
Celeste Lazarenko will sing the Vixen, and Antoinette Halloran the Fox, with Barry Ryan the Forester, and a support cast of Dimity Shepherd, Brenton Spiteri, Samuel Dundas and Jeremy Kleeman.
