You've never seen a fairy tale told like this. Meow Meow, Melbourne's queen of late-night cabaret, will reinvent the story in her distinctly un-Disney style, as a mermaid must sacrifice her voice and cut her tail in half to enter a new land. Expect original tunes by Megan Washington, Kate Miller-Heidke, Amanda Palmer and more, composed specially for the show.
The piece follows 2011's Little Match Girl; a tender and dangerous re-telling of the Hans Christian Andersen Christmas story.
