It's been seen by more than five million people around the world and now the Tony Award-winning MJ the Musical has opened at Melbourne's Her Majesty's Theatre after an epic Australian debut in Sydney.
Centred around the making of his 1992 Dangerous World Tour, MJ the Musical features more than 25 of Michael Jackson’s biggest pop hits set to show-stopping dance numbers – including ‘Beat It’, ‘Smooth Criminal’, ‘Man In The Mirror’ and ‘Thriller’.
Star Ilario Grant takes on the leading role in Melbourne after playing MJ on Broadway. He leads a stacked cast of local and international performers – including Brisbane-based newcomer Liam Damons, who will make his professional debut playing Michael as a young adult.

They join a massive cast including Josslynn Hlenti Afoa as Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine, Conlon Bonner playing the dual roles of Tito Jackson and Quincy Jones, Derrick Davis playing Michael’s father, Joseph, and his tour director, Rob, Yashith Fernando as Alejandro, Wonza Johnson as Berry Gordy and Nick, Tim Wright as Dave, and Home and Away star Penny McNamee returning to the stage as MTV journalist, Rachel.
