Brisbane, Australia, 1979. Teenagers Deb, Nick, Pete and Rachel meet at a gig and decide to form their own punk band. Easy, right? Not quite. Based on first-hand stories of living and playing music under Queensland’s corrupt and violent Bjelke-Petersen government, and with an original soundtrack played live on stage, this tribute to the Brisbane’s underground music scene made a splash when it premiered in 2014 and picked up Best Performance at Melbourne Fringe Festival. Now it’s back at the Meat Market for a limited season, directed by writer Marcel Dorney and starring Brigid Gallacher, Grace Cummings, Sahil Saluja and Zachary Giles Pidd.
