Ten years ago brothers Andrew and Dave Ong pulled off an Ocean’s Eleven style heist in the middle of New York. But instead of money their prize was a couple of tanks from an abandoned brewery in the city which were going to be sold off as scrap. Using those tanks the brothers opened 2 Brothers Brewery in Moorabbin, going on to brew more than 1,000 craft beers for which they’ve won awards. To celebrate ten years of brewing success 2 Brothers Brewery are throwing a soiree at their Moorabbin beer hall.
The highlight of the event is the release of the second installment of one of their most popular brews, the Guvnor II. They’re releasing the limited edition Guvnor II in four parts, each part having been separately brewed. You’ll be able to taste part one – French Oak – at the party. It hasn’t been tasted outside of the brewery yet though the beer is rumoured to be malt driven with notes of toffee and biscuit. Sound good? The 2 Brothers beer hall will be open from noon to 5pm Saturday December 2.
