Calling all wannabe detectives and fans of The Amazing Race – this one is definitely for you. To celebrate the launch of Experios’ newest online escape room, Mayday, an exciting outdoor manhunt is coming to the Melbourne CBD.

The Hunt: Mayday Edition is a free event that will take place on May 1. The aim of the game is to track down one of three themed characters that appear in the virtual escape room. They will be hidden around the city and surrounding inner suburbs, and you’ll need to rely on all your super-sleuth skills to find them.

There will be three frenetic rounds, each lasting an hour. To help you and your team out (and ensure you’re not just running around the city aimlessly) there will be special clues posted on social media that hint the location of each character.

If the thought of going full Sherlock Holmes with your mates isn’t enough incentive to get involved, maybe the chance to win $5,000 in each round will get you across the line. There will also be $500 available if you post a photo of your team dressed up as pilots on your social media accounts, and $500 if you post a photo of your team in action during the hunt. All up, that’s $16,000 up for grabs – not bad for an arvo of guaranteed good times!

Participants will also be able to keep the fun going and check out the online version of Mayday for the discounted price of just $5 (it’s normally $45).

So, are you ready to go from armchair detective to IRL investigator? Of course you are. The Hunt: Mayday Edition is taking place on May 1 between 12pm and 3pm. For more information and to register your interest, head to the website.
