Watch the tennis and sample Melbourne's best eateries with riverside views

Tennis just got very, very delicious. For the first time in Melbourne, Tennis Australia is hosting a festival by the Yarra to coincide with the 2016 Australian Open. Tennis fans and even those less than enthusiastic about the sport can get in on the gastronomic line-up, with stalls from the city's hottest cafes and restaurants (including George Calombaris's Gazi, Mamasita, Gelato Messina, Combi, Cobb Lane, Huxtable, Huxtaburger and Estelle Mistress by Scott Pickett) on the bill.

Thirsty? Visit the Canadian Club Racquet Club and the Heineken and Jacob's Creek Bar, where you'll be served up a refreshing bevvy or two to go with the delicious food offering. Families will gravitate towards Kids' World, where the little ones can meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and live out their tennis dreams on mini courts.

Combi and the Lavazza cafe will be open bright and early from 7am to 7pm, while the other vendors and bars will be open from noon to late.
