Named after John Batman and not the caped crusader, Northcote's Batman Park is not to be confused with a city park of the same name. That park lies just beneath a railway bridge at the site of a little village on the banks of the Yarra that could've been called Batmania. Regrettably, the city's founders went with Melbourne instead.
