Bendigo is full of so many historical buildings, sites and experiences, it's almost overwhelming. Luckily the city is hosting a one-off ‘open day’ where visitors and locals can discover the best of this old gold rush town without having to spend more than a few gold coins.
Bendigo Heritage Unwrapped is a one-day event happening on May 12. You’ll be able to learn about all the culture and history of Bendigo, from its first inhabitants (the Dja Dja Wurrung people) to its rich Chinese heritage and of course its fame as a gold mining hotspot.
Take the weight off your feet and travel between locations on one of Bendigo’s themed heritage trams. Locations participating in Unwrapped include Bendigo Town Hall, Joss House Temple, Bendigo Art Gallery, Central Deborah Gold Mine and many more. Entry at each location is by gold coin donation.
