Time Out says

Block Party, an exciting and free street festival and live art installation, is set to take over the Hellenic Museum on December 12. The family-friendly event celebrates the final reveal of a set of three murals created by Loretta Lizzio, the creator of the famed Jacinda Ardern Brunswick silo mural

Lizzio's work, which adorn three concrete plinths on the museum's front lawn, pay tribute to the stories of three lesser-known ancient Greek women who broke away from the traditional gender roles associated with women of the time. While she finalises the murals during Block Party, you're welcome to chat with her and ask her questions about her work.

During the event, the museum is also open to visitors to explore the exhibits and collections. Afterwards, you can head out to the courtyard to enjoy an exciting array of ancient history-inspired activities. You can have someone read your future through coffee grounds, try your hand at painting ceramics, cuddle with furry creatures at the petting zoo, play Mesopotamian games, eat delicious Greek street food and enjoy live music in the evening.

If you're keen to get a glimpse of the murals from start to finish, Lizzio will begin working on them on December 1 and guests are invited to pop in to take a gander. Prior to Block Party, punters can meet Lizzio at her Artist Talk on Sunday, December 5.

Block Party is free to attend, but registration is required through the Hellenic Museum website
