Craft beer has been the flavour of the month for some time. And not so surprisingly, one of craft beer's early brewers, Boatrocker, is celebrating its ninth birthday this year. The brewery has teamed up with the recently reloacted Hippocampus Distillery (which has moved from Perth and set up shop in the brewery) and will be taking over Bad Frankie for a hard-out Sunday sesh.
Expect to see a marriage of beer, vodka and gin in 'beer-tails' made of Boatrocker's select brews and Hippocampus' hard stuff. The Sunshine Spritz is a concoction of gin and pear syrup topped with Boatrocker's tart and citrusy Sunshine and Rainbows. Expect a special take on the Clover Club and pours of the recently released, super-rare 'beer whisky,' which sits in a category of its own.
