Melbourne's own Alice in Wonderland–inspired café and patisserie has answered all your sweetest dreams, hosting two big days of back-to-back high teas this November.
Bayswater's The Hatter and the Hare in Melbourne's east have lined up two high teas in celebration of World Vegan Day and the Spring Racing Carnival.
First up on Saturday, November 3 is the Hatter and the Hare’s vegan high tea – a 100 per cent vegan high tea. As any longstanding vegan knows, it can be difficult eating out and many items in a traditional high tea are off the cards.
We’re excited that our animal-loving friends will finally be able to take tea, with the Hatter and the Hare’s menu featuring a mix of sweets, savouries and scones. Enjoy bites like vegan fried chicken and waffles, lemon meringue tarts and warm fruit scones with vegan whipped cream all alongside a glass (or two) bubbly. Bookings to the vegan high tea are open online now, $69 for kids and $89 for adults.
As the weather warms up so do the racetracks. Come November, Spring Racing Carnival will well and truly hit Melbourne, but before you head to Flemington Racecourse celebrate the season with the Hatter and the Hare’s Melbourne Cup high tea.
On Sunday, November 4 the café will host a lavish high tea with unlimited wine and sparkling. The menu is more chic than the ladies in the Birdcage, with the likes of leek and manchego croquettes, finger sandwiches, gianduja choux and fluffy buttermilk scones for those who love traditional high tea treats. Bookings are open online now, $69 for kids and $95 for adults.
Both the World Vegan Day and Melbourne Cup high teas at the Hatter and the Hare run three sittings a day at 10am, noon and 2pm. Book now for a tasty spring high tea session.
