Candu's the resin casting workshop arm of Barnes Products. The Candu folks run regular workshops teaching peeps how to make resin jewellery, homewares and art (check out their webpage for the list of classes).
Safety's paramount and you're run through all of the necessary precautions before embarking on a casting adventure. The instructors are all super well versed in the art – mostly jewellery makers, design grads and sculptors, all of whom are passionate about their craft.
Recently, we did the jewellery workshop and walked out with four bangles, two rings and a tiny dish, all of which looked like boiled lollies, and we've worn them every day since.
Get your Etsy shop ready, because you'll walk away with sufficient skills and confidence to make stuff at home (albeit, in a well ventilated space). Plus, you can stock up of your necessary resin casting bits and pieces next door at Barnes Products.
Check out our interview with Candu proprietor, Nicole Barnes, and get the full run down of our in class experience.
