Munich Brauhaus will be hosting its very own Oktoberfest Street Party, and your four-legged friends are invited too. The South Wharf beer hall will be hosting Melbourne's inaugural Dogs of Oktoberfest Contest, where puppers and doggos can strut their stuff, all for a good cause.

Whether you've got a German Shepherd or a sausage (or should we say bratwurst) dog, you can bring them along to this pooch-friendly day. All furry contestants will go home with their own doggy bag packed with treats from sponsors Billy + Margot and Farmers Market. Plus, $1 from every pretzel sold on the day will be donated to Furry Friends Forever Rescue.

Alongside the doggo antics, there will be even more fun for humans with ceremonial keg taps, live oom-pah bands, yodelling and a parade. The outdoor celebration will also have plenty of beer flowing and you can try German food stalls selling pretzels, pork knuckle and schnitzel.

It all goes down Saturday September 16 from 11am at Munich Brauhaus South Wharf, with the Dogs of Oktoberfest starting at 3pm.

Book in now for your chance to enjoy Melbourne's first Dogs of Oktoberfest Contest.
