As far as instant happiness is concerned, is there anything better than a sugary, fried, iced and baked sweet treat?
If there is, we want to hear about it. But until then, we're making a beeline for Donut Fest Melbourne – perhaps Australia's only doughnut and beer festival. You will find doughnut-makers, food vendors and entertainers. Expect doughnuts from Goldelucks, Nuts About Tella, HoneyDee, Señor Churro, Dip'd, Penny for Pound, Uncle Donuts, Holy Bombolina, the Oakleigh Donut Co, Blondie's Donuts and more. The event is dog-friendly, so bring your bestie.
Festival goers can test their doughie eating skills with the doughnut eating competition (there are kids' and adults' competitions) and taste doughnut variations from all around the world. A panel of judges will also crown the best doughnut. And if you needed another reason to get into doughnuts, the festival will donate some of the money raised to Foodbank Victoria.
If you're after something savoury, the Real Jerk, Ron's Hamburger's La Revolution, the Mac Project and others will be on offer. Thirsty? There will be beer and alcoholic slushies also available.
