Time Out says

Expect durian samples, durian ice cream and live entertainment at this one-day picnic

It's time for lovers of durian to convene for one big picnic at Flagstaff Gardens.

The custardy fruit is well-loved by Malaysians and Singaporeans alike and isn't as easy to come by in Melbourne.

Starting at noon on Saturday March 6, the free picnic will include samples of the ever-popular, premium Musang King durians and live entertainment including DJs. Durians will be available to purchase by the kilo (for $30) and durian ice cream will be on offer too.

Bring your own picnic mats, hand sanitiser, disposable gloves (to keep your hands clean), and your own food and drink to enjoy along with the fruit, which has been sourced directly from a Malaysian durian plantation.

Online registration is mandatory for the event before attending to ensure contact tracing and can be done here. The event is free to attend.
