If you've ever been to LA, you've probably been told to go to Eggslut, the gourmet breakfast burger café built off an unashamed love of eggs. Chef and owner Alvin Cailan (who is also host of the Burger Show) is touching down in Melbourne for a morning pop-up at Collingwood's Easey's. What delicious synergy.
Cailan is in town to promote Truff Hot Sauce, a truffle-infused hot sauce that even Oprah approves of. To launch the sauce, Cailan is cooking two different types of burgers both which include Truff Hot Sauce. The burgers are only available during a three-hour ticketed breakfast event where $60 buys you your sandwich of choice plus a side of tots, a bottle of the hot sauce and a Bloody Melbourne (which we assume is a Bloody Mary with a few tweaks, including the addition of Truff Hot Sauce).
The sandwiches on offer will be the Beverly (soft scrambled eggs, chives, an Easey’s potato cake, cheddar, caramelised onions, Truff sauce and mayo) and the Truff Cheeseburger (an Easey’s smashed patty, egg, caramelised onions, pickles, American cheese, Truff sauce and mayo). Each session runs for 20 minutes, so we suggest you know your order before you get there. Needless to say, bookings are essential and tickets are selling fast.
