St Ali is hosting a gin tasting with Four Pillars Gin and following it up with its first dinner party in 13 years, and rest assured: it's going to be big. Step into a scene inspired by the Amalfi Coast on December 10 – think twirling fresh pasta around your fork, a bright Four Pillars Gin cocktail swishing around in your glass and smiles all round.
It will all start with an hour-long Four Pillars Gin tasting event, which will include five signature Four Pillars gins, including the original Rare Dry Gin, Bloody Shiraz Gin and the distillery's latest addition – the savoury Olive Leaf Gin. The masterclass costs $60 per person, and you can opt to join in for dinner afterwards.
Dinner is set to be an all-star chef affair, with woodfired pizzas by DOC's Tony Nicolini including: poor man’s marinara made from San Marzano tomato, garlic, basil, and extra virgin olive oil; cacio e pepe made with Giorgio’s cacio, black pepper, and extra virgin olive oil; Cornuto made with Abruzzo tomato, provolone, sopressa salami, roasted red peppers and 'nduja.
The lockdown pasta king himself, Andrea Vignali (Grossi Florentino), will have the pasta front covered with the likes of tortellini cacio e pepe alongside a grazing menu of beef tartare, chilli mussels, rib-eye on the bone and a whole baked snapper.
The winner of the World’s Best Bartender Award 2018, Orlando Marzo, will concoct a bunch of awe-inspiring cocktails drinks such as a Fig Leaf Negroni, Salento Espresso, Panettone Punch and an Elderflower and Lemon Bellini at the Grainshaker Vodka pop-up bar adjoining St Ali.
Tickets for the tasting cost $60 per person plus the booking fee, and the event will commence at 5pm on Thursday, December 10. Purchase your tickets via Eventbrite. The ticket is for the gin tasting only; dinner will cost extra and is an à la carte menu.
