Time Out says

Calling all people with coeliac! This expo is for you

If you live in fear of flour, can barley bring yourself to walk past a bakery, become rye at just the mention of bread, then the Gluten Free Expo is for you.

From Saturday, October 5 to Sunday, October 6, Coeliac Victoria and Tasmania are running an expo featuring talks by some of Australia’s leading voices on coeliac disease. There will be tips on gluten-free eating out, cooking demonstrations and a banquet of gluten-free food available without fear of cross-contamination. The selection includes an award-winning cannoli bar, souvlakis and toasties, which would make any coeliac weak at the knees. Expect stallholders slinging hot sauces, cookies, soba noodles, macarons, cured meats, curry sauces and even beer.

For the first time one of Melbourne's ritziest hotels, the Windsor, will offer its popular high tea completely gluten free. Guests at the Gluten Free Expo will have the chance to sit down and enjoy a tea of gourmet savouries, sweets, sandwiches and scones without having to worry about an upset stomach. Tickets for the afternoon tea are additional to entry tickets and must be booked in advanced.

Tickets for the Gluten Free Expo are available online and are $15 for adults, and $10 for students and concession card holders. Please note that while you can purchase tickets on the day, it will be $2 dearer than online. Those under 16 will receive free entry.
