If you’ve heard whispers about Gluttony from the people who have experienced this carnival-like spectacle at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, you’ll know it’s a colourful extravaganza of music, circus, cabaret, comedy and burlesque, with some fab food and wine elements thrown in for good measure.
And now, it’s finally coming to Melbourne. Presented by Karralyka, Gluttony will be taking over Croydon Park from April 6, for five days of fun, frivolity and guaranteed laughs. The diverse program features singers Paulini and Prinnie Stevens, comedy hypnotist Matt Hale and the Riot City Wrestling crew. There will also be a circus rock tribute to David Bowie, while Yummy Up Late is a drag and burlesque act that’s sure to push the boundaries. And the kids will absolutely love the Grossed Out Game Show or Petit Circus: Bon Appetit.
To ensure you stay fed and watered between the shows, the dining precinct will be slinging a tasty selection of snacks. You can go healthy with an acai bowl from Acai Brothers, sample tacos and nachos from TNT Mexican, or try the famous chicken from Mon Poulet. Public Brewing Co and DeBortoli have got the booze sorted, but there will also be plenty of non-alcoholic options, too.
With so much of Melbourne’s arts and culture scene devastated by Covid, there’s really never been a better time to get out and support the creative industry. For more information on the event and to score tickets, check out the website.
