Make the most of your public holiday at The Valley’s AFL-themed races

In celebration of Grand Final long weekend, the Mooney Valley Racing Club is hosting an AFL-themed race night to get you in the spirit for Saturday’s big game.

You’ll get the chance to meet AFL legends Marc Murphy, Michael Hurley and Josh Jenkins as they join in on celebrations on the main stage. And, if you’ve got an aspiring footballer on your hands, the chance for kids to take part in the Kid’s Football Clinic held by AFL Legend David King.

The first race will kick off at 6.30pm, but make sure you get a good seat so you don't miss out on world champion sprinters, Chautauqua and Buffering, as they go head-to-head in the Group 1 Moir Stakes.

There’ll be live music in the beer garden from RnB singer MAYA and food available from Melbourne’s leading food trucks, as well as a five-course degustation menu for $75 per person which includes premium drinks and a reserved table right next to the track.

If you’re the designated driver for the night, you’ll be able to get free soft drink all night long – just show your car keys at the Information Booth and sip away.

Plus, there’ll also be the chance to get on the Big Screen in the ‘Pic of the Night’ competition. Post your photos on social media with the hashtag #LoveTheValley for your chance to get on the screen and win a voucher to Legends and raceday tickets.
