Docklands is celebrating Australia Day with a stack of Australia-inspired treats

Some of your favourite ‘strayan snacks are getting a revamp this long weekend. To celebrate Australia Day bars, restaurants and cafés in Docklands is taking some of the country’s most loved snack foods and giving them an upgrade.

Ever had a lamington and thought “delicious, but could do with some alcohol”? You’ll want to stop in at Berth Restaurant and try the Lamington Martini by the waterfront. Just next door Cargo is also getting in the spirit, serving up an “Aussie” pizza, Stone & Wood beer-battered fish and chips and a Tim Tam crumble waffle.

Chances are it’ll be a hot one, so cool off with one of Limonetto’s four Australian sweets-inspired gelato flavours. There’s Cherry Ripe, Tim Tam, Milo and even a fairy bread flavour to try (we assume no fairies were harmed in its making).

Also celebrating the day will be the Woolshed the Hof Downtown, as well as the District Docklands who’ll be putting on live music, kids activities, a mechanical surfboard zone and sand sculptures. Stick around until 9pm to catch the fireworks over Harbour Esplanade.
