Psychedelic rocker and lovely oddball Mac DeMarco is hosting a huge sausage sizzle to help raise funds for bushfire relief.
The Canadian musician (you've probably had 'Ode to Viceroy' stuck in your head sometime in the past decade) is teaming up with a stack of local musos, chefs, DJs and businesses for Grill for Good – a charity barbecue with all funds going towards Fire Relief Fund for First Nations Communities and Wildlife Victoria.
DeMarco will be trading the stage for the grill, cooking up meat and veggo snags under the watchful eye of top Melbourne chefs like Tobie Puttock, Shannon Martinez and Raph Rashid. Joining DeMarco will be King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Alice Skye, Amyl and the Sniffers, Pond, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever and Chai.
Pair your charity sausage sambo with a drink from Blackhearts and Sparrows, then boogie down with DJ sets from Cut Copy, Miss Blanks and friends, Amyl and the Sniffers, Harvey Sutherland and Soju Gang.
There will be artworks and merchandise for sale (all funds to be donated) plus DeMarco will be taking selfies with fans for an additional donation. Tickets are a measly $10 and are on sale now. Dogs and picnic blankets are welcome.
