Since launching in July of 2018, CBD bar Heroes has already made a splash with its fun mix of karaoke, grilled meats and rooftop cocktails. Now, the multi-level Bourke Street bar and eatery is running rooftop yum cha sessions.
Heroes’ yum cha(r) series sees head chef Alicia Cheong collaborating with a bunch of local talents, including Telina Menzies from Harlow Bar, Elliot Moss from Buxton Hall Barbecue in North Carolina in the US, and Rhys Hunter from Pontoon, for three rounds of yum cha.
But this won't be your regular trolley dumpling fare. For $45, guests get a choice between two barbecue dishes, with each chef concocting one meat and one vegetarian dish. You'll also get a selection of yum char sides including deep-fried Sambal buns, steamed chive dumplings, congee and spring onion pancakes. You'll also score two hours of beers, Mimosas and Bellinis.
After the feast, you'll be treated to an afternoon of open mic karaoke with all songs curated by the guest chefs. Expect plenty of karaoke ballads.
Bookings are essential and can be done via the ‘buy tickets’ button above. All yum char parties will run from 1pm to 3pm. Check the Dates and Times tab for more information.
