Time Out says

An evening of coffee, beer, basketball and gelato, all in the name of a good cause

The fine folk behind Long Street Coffee – a Richmond café staffed by refugees – as well as Market Lane Coffee, Pidapipó Gelato and Mountain Goat are joining forces to raise funds for West Welcome Wagon Inc, a volunteer-run, not-for-profit charity that provides material aid to people seeking asylum living in Melbourne’s west.

Taking place on Friday February 24 at Long Street Coffee, Hopes, Scoops and Hoops will be a celebration of community, coffee and the joyous resilience of people seeking asylum.

Tickets are $25 and include: a Rwandan coffee education session, tasty snacks and refreshments from the Long Street Coffee kitchen team, all-you-can-drink Rwandan coffee, a Pidapipó + Market Lane affogato featuring single origin Rwandan espresso and Pidapipó gelato aaaand free hoop-shooting until the sun goes down. Mountain Goat beers will be available for a gold coin donation as well.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to West Welcome Wagon Inc.

Keen for more kindness? Here's a bunch of other people making positive social change in Melbourne.
