On August 19 and 20, Ballarat’s famed Kryal Castle will invite visitors to step back in time and experience a weekend of Scottish history.
The inaugural Highland Spectacular will feature bagpipes and kilts galore, with attendees to be immersed in the world of pipe bands, traditional dancing and clan tents, plus delectable Scottish food and drink.
Recreating the majestic sights of yore, the historical extravaganza will also see armoured warriors and their mighty steeds (including Highland horses and cows) show off their athletic prowess in thrilling live performances.
For the foodies, there will be a four-course feast that celebrates the best of Scottish cuisine. Kinglake Distillery and ballad duo Auld Alliance will be in attendance, providing paired whisky tastings and beautiful tunes, respectively. Diners will savour hearty Scottish broth, roast meat platters and vegetable medleys, as well as timeless delicacies like haggis, neeps and tatties.
