Time Out says

Melbourne's only CBD gin distillery is celebrating its first birthday with a gin-tastic party

The building at 17 Casselden Place has quite a storied history. It was a brothel and sly grog shop, part of Melbourne's infamous Little Lon district, centred around Little Lonsdale Street. Now it's home to Little Lon Distilling Co, a tiny ten-person bar and distillery housed in the only single-storey building left in the CBD.

Little Lon makes gins that reflect the history of the site, such as Constable Proudfoot, named for a Victorian-era police officer who busted the premises more than once, and Miss Yoko, named for brothel madam and Victorian seductress Yokohama.

Little Lon has been in the space for a year, and to celebrate, it's putting on a garden party and spring soirée. Little Lon will be expanding its footprint and hosting a party for 200 people (believe us, that's about 20x the number who will fit in the bar itself). Think gin and tonics made with Fever Tree, beers from Brick Lane Brewing and cheese and charcuterie from the Coopers Inn Hotel.

There will also be live music, surprise entertainment and a food truck to keep punters sated.
