No plans for the long weekend? St Kilda’s beach club starlet Pontoon is kickstarting the first long weekend of the year with two free parties beside the Bay.
On Saturday, January 25, Pontoon will be counting down the best tunes of 2019 with a huge Hottest 100 party. The party kicks off at midday and you’ll get to listen along to the Triple J broadcast all afternoon right up until the number one song is crowned. Then, you’ll hear from local Melbourne DJ Maddy Horsburgh who will hit the decks from 8pm onwards.
There will be a bunch of specials up for grabs between noon and 4pm including $9 pints and $5 pots and snacks from the grill. Entry is free but you can RSVP on the Facebook event page here.
Continue the party vibes on Monday, January 27 with Pontoon’s Patron Beach Fiesta. The fiesta will be the launch party of a month-long Mexican-style beach club that’s taking over Pontoon until the end of February. On Monday, however, they’re launching with special guests Slum Sociable taking to the DJ decks from 4-6pm who will kick start this cool-as-a-cucumber all day tequila party.
At the party, you’ll be able to score $20 Patron cocktails paired with matching $10 snacks, fresh from the grill. There are four great cocktails to choose from, including the Pontoon Paloma (with Patron Silver, grapefruit juice, lime, agave, chilli and soda) and a Coconut and Chilli Margarita (with Patron Reposado, lime, coconut and jalapenos). Snacks include kingfish ceviche, crumbed jalapenos and Café Patron ice cream (perfect for a hot summer day!) Entry is free but you can RSVP on the Facebook event page here.
