Pick the brains of multi-talented artist Miranda July when she lands in Melbourne
She's an accomplished artist, writer of two acclaimed fiction titles including the most recent The First Bad Man, and director of indie rom-com Me and You and Everyone We Know. And now Miranda July has been confirmed to a talk at Melbourne Town Hall in March 2016, presented by ACMI and the Wheeler Centre.
In Australia for the All About Women festival in Sydney, July's talk is named after the title of her first book Lost Child!, which she wrote when she was seven years old. It follows a girl who finds herself lost because she followed a voice from the sky. In her autobiographical talk, July will be talking about making books, art, friends, films, performances and more, charting her move from a struggling artist in Portland to being an acclaimed writer and filmmaker.
The talk will be accompanied by interactive performance, video clips, and short readings. Be sure to score a ticket to catch a glimpse into the mind of this intriguing artist.
