Time Out says

This family-friendly street party will transform Moorabbin’s Station Street into a neon dreamworld

Moorabbin is getting its first-ever street party, complete with neon art, special menus and a silent disco. Moorabbin Junction After Dark will see Station Street become a hive of all-ages nighttime activity from 5-10pm on the weekend of Friday, August 11 until Sunday, August 13. Celebrating the local community is the meat and potatoes of this free event, so the City of Kingston is inviting locals and visitors alike to rug up and bring their friends and loved ones along for an activity-packed winter night in Moorabbin.

Neon artist Carla O’Brien will light up Station Street with pop-up interactive art installations to provide the perfect photo op. Prep for your snaps with a visit to the UV face painting session to make sure you’re really glowing. There’ll also be live music throughout the weekend and a silent disco for those who want to ramp up the party.

Shops all along the strip will stay open late, offering up warming winter meals and snacks. Grape and Grain will be pouring their signature Moorabbin Beer all weekend and Tuck Shop will be serving up birria tacos and nutella donuts. Drop by Doner Kebab for winter specials, or pull up a chair to enjoy the after dark express menu featuring croquettes and cocktails at Comma Food & Wine. When you’re done, grab a hot chocolate (spiked or regular) or a mulled wine from Wilbury & Sons.

Station Street is right next to Moorabbin Station, so you can easily catch a train or bus to the party and avoid worrying about parking.
