From January 14, Fed Square will turn into a wonderland of cultural exhibitions, performances and family fun. Come celebrate your love for Melbourne and experience something new, including an inflatable fountain, outdoor movies, concerts, art and more. No matter who you are, these free events are sure to make your start to 2022 a memorable one.

Fed Oasis

Jan 14-Dec 31

Along with the plethora of events on offer, Fed Square is also getting a makeover this summer and becoming an oasis of artist takeovers. First Nations artist Robert Michael Young will transform the giant letters facing Swanston Street with a summer twist. The Square’s deck chairs will be redesigned with evocative artworks by graffiti artists including Brisbane’s Sofles, and will have shady umbrellas to accompany the comfortable, chic seating. Rumour has it that there will also be free ice cream around, so keep your eyes peeled.

The Summer of Sport

Throughout summer

It's no secret that Melbourne is crazy about sports and the giant screen in Fed Square will be a gathering point for aficionados throughout summer, live streaming all the hottest events in sporting. There will be coverage of the Australia Open, the Super Bowl, the AFL Women’s League, Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and more
