Time Out says

Become one with the art at this lush open air painting event

It’s the ultimate experience for nature lovers, arty people and artists. Taking the French artistic expression “En Plein Air” (meaning “in the open air”) to the extreme, Gasworks Arts Park’s new live painting experience invites people to participate as either ‘the artist or the voyeur’ in the great outdoors.

Paint Out allows the audience to become part of the landscape scene in a visual symphony of colour, motion and live painting. Amateur and professional artists are also invited to paint, draw or sketch anywhere within the park that inspires them within an allocated time-frame of three hours. Grab a picnic rug and get cozy in the park with friends, or wander around the precinct and peek over the shoulders of the artists.

The event will run over two Saturdays, November 23 and 30, and each day is open to up to 40 participants. After paintbrushes are downed, all artworks will be transferred to a pop-up gallery, open from November 23 - December 15. All artworks in the exhibition will be in the running to win one of four $1000 cash prizes, awarded on Tuesday 3 December at the exhibition launch from 6-8pm.

You can register to be part of Paint Out at the Gasworks website. The action kicks off at 11am on both days, but make sure you arrive between 10-10.30am to find your spot and get settled.
