If the words “free hot jam doughnuts” don’t have you already blocking out 11am-4pm on Saturday May 19 in your calendar, then how does free Jamaican-style jerk chicken, free barber cuts, live music and beer sound?
For one day only, Highpoint is pulling out all the stops for a party dedicated to showcasing some of their newest tenants. If you’re a local, then you’ll know and love Highpoint’s pop-up space IN: TRANSIT – a place where hot new brands and cult favourites set up shop for a limited time.
This time around, IN: TRANSIT is welcoming new tenants – the Jerk and Legacy Barbers & Essential Pieces. From noon, Jamaican street food vendor the Jerk will be rustling up 100 of their deliciously spiced jerk chicken meals until 1pm – and from 11am-4pm, they’ll be giving away complimentary sides with any purchase. The much-loved Dandee Donuts food truck will be visiting Highpoint for the day and slinging 1,000 (yes, you read that right) of the hot, jam-filled beauties, so make sure you’re there right on noon.
Once you’ve had your fill of doughnuts and chicken, the friendly folks at Legacy Barbers & Essential Pieces will be giving free barber cuts from 11am-4pm to those who are brave enough to spin a wheel which will reveal their new look. Make sure you book, as spots are bound to fill up quickly. And speaking of sprucing yourself up, make sure you pay a visit to the Sneaker Laundry (Australia’s first sneaker maintenance shop), who will have your kicks looking brand new in no time.
On top of that, there’ll be a pop-up beer bar, and tunes from a local live music duo. Who ever said that west isn’t best?
