This delicious market event is back on for another round of sausages
It's summer, which means barbecues all over the country are blazing and countless snags get a grilling. Prahran Market is joining in the Australian summer tradition by hosting their third annual Sausage Fest on January 29, and the day's sausage party will be headed by food writer Dani Valent, before she kicks off a snag tasting competition where the general public will be able to vote for their favourite snags cooked by Melbourne chefs.
The market's top butchers and poulterers (AKA sausage artists) are already busy road testing the festival's snags and no flavour is out of bounds, they only need to make sure that they submit a new flavour for the 2017 competition. Last year J&L Butchers took home the trophy for their lamb, spinach, and pine nut sausage, while Gary's Meats won the inaugural festival with his Thai chilli snag in 2015.
