Get your skates on, baby – there's ice skating at Fed Square
Rug up, hire some skates and take a spin when ice-skating comes back to Fed Square for a month this winter. Running from 10am-10pm daily, it's a perfect way to impress a date or out of towners – basically, you'll be on the ice, overlooking the Yarra – nice.
Tickets go onsale 9am Wed Jun 1. Get in early, because prime-time slots will sell out – also, pre-purchased tickets will be cheaper than at the rink.
Kids are welcome, although under tens are required to wear a helmet (provided free at the rink).
For first timers or those unsteady on their skates, you can hire a penguin (it's a skating aid with handles that will help you stay upright).
Some of the nighttime sessions will be accompanied by live tunes and food trucks will be on hand to keep up energy levels.
While you're there be sure to check out the Light in Winter festival at Fed Square – now running for its tenth year, expect illuminated projections, light installations and story telling during the Campfire program.
