Since 1971, three generations of Schulzes have raised Friesian and Jersey cows near Timboon in the Otways. Their milk’s flavour and creaminess varies subtly with the season and the cows’ feed. “Our milk is the closest you will find to real milk straight from the cow,” says Simon Schulz.
Simon has noticed customers becoming more proactive about what they eat. “We have only ever gained new customers when they come searching for us,” he says, attributing the demand to “our integrity, honesty, commitment to quality and that we truly link our paddocks to the business.”
Excitingly, Schulz Organic Farms is planning a farmhouse café. “People can come visit the farm, have cheese tastings, see the cows and calves and learn how to make cream and butter,” says Simon.
