Few people have left as big a mark on Melbourne's hospitality scene as Pelligrini's co-owner Sisto Malaspina, whose death devastated Melbourne last year.
Pelligrini's and neighbouring businesses want to celebrate his life and legacy with a street party filled with good times and of course, food. The party will take over Crossley Street for an afternoon of feasting, including panini, gnocchi, pizza and granita from Pellegrini’s, Negronis from Meyers Place, Aperol Spritzes, beer and wine from Boco and punch and wine from Gingerboy. Neighbouring restaurants Becco, Ombra Salumi Bar, Bottega, the European and Gingerboy will also be serving up food on the day. All food and soft drinks are included in the ticket price, as well as one alcoholic drink.
Malaspina ran Pelligrini's, the first restaurant in Melbourne to get an espresso machine, for more than 40 years with his business partner, Nino Pangrazio.
Tickets are $75, and $5 from each ticket sale will be donated to the Salvation Army in Malaspina's honour.
