Time Out says

Prepare yourself (and your stomach) for Melbourne's first ricotta festival

Ricotta might be one of the most versatile cheeses. You can spot it in many Italian desserts or you might find it nestled in between layers of ragu and lasagna sheets. It’s so great that the folks over at That’s Amore Cheese have announced Australia’s first-ever Ricotta Festival.

The cheese lover’s dream event will be held at That’s Amore Cheese in Thomastown on Sunday, February 28 and punters (who pay $10 for a ticket) will be greeted by a ricotta vat from its factory at the entrance. It’s only uphill from there as you receive some hot ricotta upon arrival. The café on-site will offer a selection of ricotta dishes, and Cannoleria’s cannoli cart will be serving freshly filled cannoli, while Vino Bambino’s Lambretta wine station will take care of drinks. Lap this all up as you’re serenaded by live music.

If you want to up the ante, the ricotta lover ticket (priced at $40) includes admission, the ricotta calda, a serving of gnocchi sorrentina (baked pillows of gnocchi in a cheesy, Napoli sauce), polpette di ricotta (think arancini if they were just filled with cheese instead), a drink and some cannolo.

The Ricotta Festival will take place on Sunday, February 28 from 10am till 3pm at That’s Amore Cheese at 66 Latitude Boulevard in Thomastown.
