It’s the great Aussie tradition: loading up the esky with summertime tucker – burgers, salads, bread rolls and tomato sauce (lots of tomato sauce) – and basking in the sunshine over a barbecue.
Every year, Cure Cancer invites Australians to turn their barbecues into BarbeCUREs and help raise funds for lifesaving cancer research. This year things are a little different for the traditional BarbeCURE – so they’ve decided to take things online.
As part of the Biggest Virtual BarbeCURE, the Cure Cancer team is aiming to break the Guinness Book of Records for the biggest virtual barbecue. The record will be measured by how many photos are uploaded of people barbecuing on the BarbeCURE event page on Saturday, May 16. To break the world record they need 6,000 photos of people barbecuing together online.
While you barbecue, the charity is encouraging everyone to donate $10 (or more) to Cure Cancer.
