Time Out says

The Coming Back Out Ball is returning to celebrate LGBTQIA+ elders in a night of dancing, drinks and delicious food

This one is for the trailblazers, for the people who were coming out when coming out was not a thing, for the LGBTQIA+ community before half the alphabet was recognised. This is for those of you who are 65 and over and didn’t get the chance to grow up in a world that accepted you.

On Thursday, October 25 Melbourne Town Hall will be hosting the Coming Back Out Ball in celebration of all of those people who didn’t have the support they should have growing up. It was created and produced by All The Queens Men as a direct response to research conducted on LGBTQIA+ elders, who often believe they are not safe, and the resulting social isolation they face.

In 2017 the ball inspired a documentary which premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival’s closing night gala. Now it’s returning for another night of dancing, drinks and celebration in good company.

The ball is $75 for people 65 and over with a senior concession card, and there are also some free tickets available for LGBTQIA+ elders who don't have the means to pay that amount. For those under 65, tickets are $150.
