In 2013, 300 Kate Bushes (or Cathys) gathered in the seaside British town of Brighton to re-enact that famous 1978 'Wuthering Heights' videoclip (below), red dresses and all. Then in 2015, diehard fans – women and men of all ages – took to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne to do the exact same thing. The response was overwhelming; hundreds were involved, all of them swishing and twirling their way through the park in unison.
Much to the delight of Melbourne's Kate Bush fans, the Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever will return this July – this time at Edinburgh Gardens.
The full schedule for the day can be found on the Facebook event page. Event organisers are inviting anyone regardless of age, gender or ability to dress up in all red and learn the famous choreography. You'll then get to perform it alongside all the other Cathys. Non-dancing participants (who will be designated as "Heathcliffs" for the day) are also welcome to attend but you may be asked to take photos, fetch refreshments and mind the belongings of the Cathys when they perform.
The event is free to attend, and there will be posters and afternoon tea for sale too, with all proceeds going towards charities that support survivors of domestic violence.
Start shopping for red fabric and black belt; it gets cold on those wiley, windy moors.
