Time Out says

Join this southside joint for a Spongebob Squarepants-themed degustation

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Apparently Spongebob Squarepants does, and for those obsessed with the cult cartoon icon, burger joint the Pickle and the Patty is putting on a Spongebob-themed seafood degustation.

You might not find any plankton, but the menu will feature an abundance of pickles and house ferments and the likes of retro-style Krabby Patties with pickled grapes, New Orleans style shrimp po’ boys marinated in housemade fermented dill hot sauce and of course, a lobster roll – complete with edible champagne pearls (not that kind of Pearl) and even your very own pineapple under the sea for dessert.

You’ll also be able to add on extra meals when purchasing your tickets, like the chef’s take on the show’s Chum Bucket – the venue that tries and fails to compete against the Krusty Krab.

Take advantage of its complimentary drink pairing and the cocktail list curated by the Market Hotel, the pub that houses the Pickle and Patty. Expect the likes of neon green “kelp shakes” and boozy blood orange “diet blood” cocktails, plus an extensive wine list by sommelier Evan Christopoulos.

Say "aye-aye captain" and purchase your tickets in package deals starting from $77 per person here. The Pickle and the Patty at Bikini Bottom will take place on Sunday April 18 at 160 Clarendon St South Melbourne.
