Learn to cook with one of the best vegan chefs in the business — and for a good cause

Whether you're a committed vegan or just plant-curious, minimising meat consumption is a goal for many of Melbourne's diners — and chefs. And there is no restaurant that attracts as many accolades for its vegan fare than Smith and Daughters.

Shannon Martinez is the Fitzroy institution's owner, and she's offering a masterclass in vegan cooking on June 14. This is not just any masterclass, either — Martinez is an ambassador for Sacred Heart Mission's Dine with Heart campaign, and proceeds from the class will go to supporting the Sacred Heart Mission in providing more than 400 meals every single day to some of Melbourne's most vulnerable. 

Martinez will teach participants how to make a three-course vegan meal, and everyone will get to eat their creations. 

The class will be held at St Kilda Sacred Heart Mission's Dining Hall, at 87 Grey Street. There are only 30 tickets available, so get in quick to learn to cook with kindness.
